In this episode we reflect on a Gospel passage in which a person is healed in stages, not all at once. Lauren and Jon ask us to consider if we need to do something ourselves to make healing happen.

Thanks for this. I struggled with the Visio Divina. Throughout, I was looking for the picture to come into focus, then it would quickly go out of focus. In and out. I couldn’t “focus” on the exercise, as the picture was mostly fuzzy and then fleetingly clear. I hope that Jesus allowed the man to keep his 20/20 once it was given. That’s what I wanted. Again, thanks. Jane
Thanks for sharing, Jane. I am sorry you struggled with the Visio Divina. We had an interesting conversation about the image on zoom. We shared about the time it takes to find clarity in our lives. What may seem clear at one moment may not be so clear in the next moment. We talked about how healing is a process, not always happening instantly. We wondered what might have gone out of focus for man after he received his 20/20 vision? His life was different after the healing and as grateful as he may have been some of us thought he might be apprehensive or anxious about what was next once he was healed. I think the conversation on zoom helped all of us after watching this image which is very different than any we have used before. We did warn the participants on zoom that this image would be different. Watching online today you would not have heard that piece of information. So, I am sure it was not easy to focus on the image! Thanks again for hanging in there and for sharing. Lauren
Wow what a interesting topic especially for me right now. As I was trying to watch this episode I was getting text messages from my daughter and son asking me if I heard from a certain person about a appointment that they contact on my behalf. I am hearing impaired and have a difficult hearing on the phone so sometimes they do these things for me. One called Wednesday and the other Thursday and Friday. Neither received a call back. Nor I . Since I normally inpatient I responded which even surprise me, that we can only be patient when the time is right it will happen. I am extremely lucky to have such a caring and helpful family.
First Glance of the image I thought something was wrong with my IPad. Soon I remember that this is what the blind man saw and that the image would become clearer. And as for my life things will happen and become clearer when the time is right because that is God plan.
I enjoy these podcast. And have learned when I listen to the gospel with more understanding and can Image it more then a story. Thanks
